CARE Program Completes 9th Year of Classroom Presentations

The LBA's Bankruptcy Section has wrapped up another successful year of its CARE presentations, which prepare high school seniors and college students to manage their finances and understand responsible use of credit. The presentations were delivered to 3,300 students at 22 local high schools and two universities on March 16 and 17.

The Legal Aid Network of Kentucky announces the launch of Volunteer Lawyers for Veterans, a program that encourages Kentucky lawyers to volunteer their time and skill to help our state’s low-income veterans resolve civil legal problems.

The Jefferson County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office implemented a new case management system April 4, which is not expected to impact court dockets or procedures but will enable prosecutors to function more effectively.

Nearly 100 members of the legal community came together at Fourth Street Live! on March 3 in support of children in our area—raising more than $13,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kentuckiana at the LBA’s Legal Bowl for Kids’ Sake!
