The Louisville Bar Association Placement Service matches area law firms seeking qualified attorneys and legal support staff with the appropriate employees. The service refers attorneys, legal secretaries, paralegals, receptionists and other legal support staff for full and part-time employment.

Placement Director David Mohr is well versed in the legal market with 14 years of legal staffing experience, in addition to 10 years of prior paralegal experience. As an active member of the Louisville Association of Paralegals, Legal Secretaries of Louisville and the Association of Legal Administrators, David has the knowledge to connect you with the right individual or firm.

Thank you for considering the LBA's Placement Service for assistance in your candidate search. All of our candidates are pre-screened personally by our placement director. The screening process includes a personal interview, education and bar standing verification, testing where applicable and reference checks. Should a candidate not appear to be a good recommendation, he or she will not be submitted to our clients.

The process by which we perform the candidate search goes as follows:

  1. Those interested should e-mail a job description, including work hours, salary, benefits offered, a brief description of job duties, and experience and education level desired of the candidates to Placement Director David Mohr at dmohr@loubar.org.
  2. David will then search his database of candidates for those who fill the specified requirements and are actively seeking employment. He will also advertise and recruit for the position.
  3. Once he has found a suitable group of candidates (i.e., only those who appear to meet the qualifications needed to perform the job), David will submit, to you, the resumes of those individuals.
  4. If you choose to hire a candidate unassociated with the LBA Placement Service, you owe nothing. If you do hire a candidate provided by the LBA, we will generate an invoice for the placement after verifying he or she is performing well as an employee of your firm. Should that candidate not work out for any reason within 45 days of placement, we will restart the recruiting and interview efforts to replace that candidate at no extra charge.
  5. Please feel free to contact David for more information regarding the placement fee, which is MUCH lower than other staffing firms—and LBA members receive a 50 percent discount!

PARALEGAL - Plaintiff's firm seeking litigation paralegal with at least five (5) years' experience for busy medical malpractice/personal injury practice.  Qualified candidates should be proficient in Microsoft Office Suites, Excel and Power Point; have attended and assisted with trials, mediations and depositions; requested and analyzed records (medical, business, personnel, etc.); and, managed voluminous paper and electronic document productions.  Experience with Summation and Sanction preferred, but not required.  Competitive salary, opportunity for bonuses and other benefits offered.

ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY – Leading Mortgage creditor rights firm seeks full time Associate Attorney for its Louisville KY office. The firm specializes in real estate matters and representing mortgage lenders. Primary duties will include real estate transactions and litigation in the state of KY. Must be licensed by the KY Bar and have one to five years of related experience. Competitive salary with excellent benefits offered. 

LEGAL ASSISTANT– Legal Assistant for small downtown Insurance Defense Firm. Must have prior experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal. Working knowledge of Kentucky's court system and procedures as well as document formats. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be proficient with MS Word and Outlook. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Pay is based on candidate, plus paid parking, vacation time, 401K and a casual work environment. 

LEGAL ASSISTANT – Small law firm located on the east side of Louisville is currently in the market for a sharp Legal Assistant/Secretary to help handle subrogation files. Candidate does not need to have subrogation experience, but should have at least 2+ years of legal assistant experience, as well as good organizational and computer skills. Some litigation experience would be a plus. This is a full time position and salary is based on candidate.

REAL ESTATE PARALEGAL – A well-established real estate closing/title office located on the east side of Louisville is currently in the market for an experienced closing paralegal with both residential and commercial closing experience. Pay is based on experience plus full benefits.
