Thank you for considering the LBA's Placement Service for assistance in your candidate search. All of our candidates are pre-screened personally by our placement director. The screening process includes a personal interview, education and bar standing verification, testing where applicable and reference checks. Should a candidate not appear to be a good recommendation, he or she will not be submitted to our clients.

The process by which we perform the candidate search goes as follows:

  1. Those interested should e-mail a job description, including work hours, salary, benefits offered, a brief description of job duties, and experience and education level desired of the candidates to Placement Director David Mohr at
  2. David will then search his database of candidates for those who fill the specified requirements and are actively seeking employment. He will also advertise and recruit for the position.
  3. Once he has found a suitable group of candidates (i.e., only those who appear to meet the qualifications needed to perform the job), David will submit, to you, the resumes of those individuals.
  4. If you choose to hire a candidate unassociated with the LBA Placement Service, you owe nothing. If you do hire a candidate provided by the LBA, we will generate an invoice for the placement after verifying he or she is performing well as an employee of your firm. Should that candidate not work out for any reason within 45 days of placement, we will restart the recruiting and interview efforts to replace that candidate at no extra charge.
  5. Please feel free to contact David for more information regarding the placement fee, which is MUCH lower than other staffing firms—and LBA members receive a 50 percent discount!

Thank you for considering the LBA’s Placement Service to assist you in your job search! We work with a variety of firms, know the local legal market well, and are well versed on the needs of Louisville area firms. We can also provide tips on interviewing and perfecting your resume.

OFFICE SHARE ATTORNEY  The LBA is working with a well-established and successful Louisville Attorney in the area who is seeking another established Attorney for an office share situation, (He would not employ this attorney candidate). Our client has a completely furnished, equipped and supplied office with an overflow of work. The successful attorney candidate will need to pay a modest amount of "rent" and shared expenses, but they can keep all of the collections from what they bill - no origination fee is required to be paid to this established attorney. In similar arrangements in the past, this client has provided other attorneys literally hundreds of thousands of dollars of billings at no charge. The attorney candidate would need to keep the clients happy, do quality work, and draft sophisticated legal language similar in style to his drafting. The main two obstacles he has confronted are inadequate experience to service a more sophisticated level of business/commercial legal needs (for example, one of the clients is a founder of a large restaurant chain with extensive business holdings) and a need for health insurance, which is obviously not offered. Attorney candidate should have experience providing legal services to businesses, licensed professional or nonprofits. Business law/corporate and/or tax experience, (This is a must).
