Administrative Order 2021-01 and Administrative Order 2021-02 collectively provide that:

• All jury trials are postponed until April 1, 2021
• Effective immediately, grand jury proceedings must either be conducted remotely or suspended
• All show cause dockets are postponed until April 1, 2021
• Effective immediately, judicial sales must either be conducted remotely or outside in accordance with CDC guidelines
• Night courts in Jefferson County continue to be suspended until further notice

While the new orders replace previously-issued orders, they carry forward many of the same provisions limiting access to court facilities; requiring all filings to be eFiled, mailed or filed conventionally using outside drop boxes; and reducing in-person staffing of court personnel.  They also reiterate previously-stated health and safety protocols for court officials and employees including the wearing of facial coverings and social distancing in common areas.
