The LBA proudly announces the graduation of its 2026 Leadership Academy class. Twelve attorneys completed the program on June 24, 2026 and will be recognized at the LBA Member Appreciation and Awards Luncheon on November 19.
The LBA Leadership Academy develops the next generation of legal leaders in Louisville through skill building, mentorship and community engagement. From a January leadership retreat to a June closing session, the Academy challenged participants to think beyond their day-to-day practice and consider how to lead within their firms, the legal profession and the community.
The cohort explored leadership strategy, emerging technology, feedback and challenge culture, civic engagement and nonprofit service while learning from attorneys, judges, business leaders and community partners. They also stepped outside the classroom to complete a service project at Home of the Innocents, building relationships with one another while putting leadership into practice. “This year’s cohort stood out for their curiosity, engagement and willingness to have honest conversations,” said Lisa M. Murray, Director of Professional Development and Leadership at the LBA. “They asked thoughtful questions, challenged themselves and each other and invested fully in the experience. My hope is that they walk away with lasting professional relationships, more confidence in their own leadership and a stronger connection to the legal community.”
