August 6th—the start of the JCPS school year—is this week!
To help raise funds for our annual Back 2 School Drive join the LBA for TRIVIA NIGHT on Tuesday, August 25 at Vernon Lanes.
Our theme this year is Pop Culture High! Gather your team of up to eight individuals to answer questions based entirely on famous schools, teachers and characters from some of your most beloved movies, TV shows and literature. Think Hogwarts, Abbott Elementary, Saved by the Bell and more!
The Back 2 School program holds a special place in our hearts. It was launched in 2003 by our very own Kristen Miller, LBA Executive Director, when she served as chair of the Public Service committee. For more than two decades, we’ve equipped local students with the tools they need to succeed.
With recent, well-known cuts to JCPS school budgets, we want to ensure that every donation makes the greatest possible impact. Therefore, we are asking for monetary contributions this year instead of physical school supplies. By working with the Family Resource Center at each school, this approach allows us to purchase the most-needed items for teachers and students.
Can’t make it to trivia night? You can still support our local students by donating online or sending in your donation. All donations are tax deductible. If mailing your donation please make checks payable to the Louisville Bar Center and mail to: 600 W. Main St., Ste. 110, Louisville, KY 40202.

- The Pencil Pal – $15: Provides fundamental writing tools
- The Glue Guru – $25: Supplies essentials for classroom projects
- The Backpack Buddy – $35: Equips a student with a new backpack
- The Apple of Our Eye – Other Amount: Every gift helps
The LBA Health and Wellness Committee will also be donating a portion of proceed from their upcoming Pickleball Tournament on Sunday, September 20 — stay tuned for more details!

“The individual snacks have been used for students in the afternoons who possibly didn’t eat enough lunch or are just hungry and need an afternoon pick-me-up. We have also made good use of them with students who are at school late. We have several buses that don’t get to us until well after dismissal.. I honestly can’t thank you enough for being willing to steer away from traditional supplies and address our real needs.”
