The Louisville Bar Association is accepting applications for its New Lawyer Academy through Friday, May 29.

If you’re in your first, second or third year of practice, this is your opportunity to invest in the career you’re building — starting now.

The LBA New Lawyer Academy is a six-month, cohort-based program designed specifically for early-career attorneys who are LBA members. It picks up where law school leaves off, layering practical skills and personal development onto the foundation legal education provides. From navigating client relationships and building professional confidence to developing the habits that support a long, sustainable career, the Academy addresses the real-world realities of legal practice that no classroom fully prepares you for.

The result? A clearer path forward, a stronger professional network and the tools to not just survive your first years in practice but thrive in them.

Applications are open Monday, May 4 through Friday, May 29, 2026.

Ready to apply? Submit your application online or download a PDF version to complete and return.

Space in the Academy is limited, so don’t wait until the final week to get your application in.
