The Louisville Bar Foundation's mission is to raise and distribute funds for the delivery of legal services to the poor and indigent; for law-related public education; and for improvement of the judiciary, the legal profession, and citizen access to the justice system.

The LBF was established in 1981 as the charitable giving arm of the Louisville Bar Association. Since then, the LBF has distributed more than $3 million in grants to local organizations, and the endowment has increased to $3 million. The Foundation is supported by contributions from attorneys, law firms and corporations.
