STATEMENT OF THE LOUISVILLE BAR ASSOCIATION RE: INVASION OF UKRAINE

The Louisville Bar Association joins our Ukrainian colleagues and civil society in condemning the actions of Russian President Vladimir Putin for invasion of the sovereign country of Ukraine. The invasion violates the rule of law, and its brutality violates universal human rights.

We are encouraged by the response of most of the civilized world, rejecting and sanctioning Mr. Putin’s actions. Likewise, we are inspired by the valor and resolve of the Ukrainian people.

The Louisville Bar Association stands with the Ukrainian Bar Association and the country it serves. We will remain steadfast with Ukraine along with all who understand and treasure the blessings of freedom within democratic republics, human rights and the rule of law.

The Louisville Bar Association is a voluntary association of attorneys and allied professionals in the Louisville, Ky. area dedicated to promotion of justice, professional excellence, and respect for the law; LBA also seeks to improve public access to the judicial system; provide law-related services to the community; and serve our members.
