Join colleagues and friends for Dinner & A Movie at the Kentucky Science Center on Thursday, November 6. Food and drinks will be served in the Riverview Room from 5-6:30 p.m., and for just $20, guests will enjoy a delicious buffet catered by The Silver Spoon, one complimentary beverage (cash bar available for additional drinks), movie candy (because who can resist!) and not to mention... the pleasure of great company.

At the conclusion of the reception, guests will be guided to the Science Center’s 4-story digital theater and receive preferred seating for a free, public screening of the classic film, “Inherit the Wind.”

The film is based on the infamous 1925 Scopes “Monkey Trial,” in which a small-town school teacher is charged with teaching Darwin’s theory of evolution to his high school science class in violation of state law. He is defended by a renowned lawyer (portrayed by Spencer Tracy) and prosecuted by a fundamentalist politician (portrayed by Fredric March), characters fashioned after real-life adversaries Clarence Darrow and William Jennings Bryan, respectively, whose courtroom clashes are taken largely from transcripts of the actual trial.

The screening, which begins at 6:30 p.m., will be preceded by a brief discussion of legal issues raised by the film and how they resonate even today.
