The YLD welcomes Courtney Preston-Kellner and Shameka Parrish-Wright for a primer on pro bono representation and the preservation of the First Amendment. Ms. Preston-Kellner has helped to organize and spearhead a grass-root effort by local attorneys seeking to assist in the representation of arrested protesters while Ms. Parrish-Wright runs the Bail Project, which has been instrumental in securing the release of arrested individuals. Come join us as Ms. Preston-Kellner and Ms. Parrish-Wright give us the basics on pro bono representing individuals arrested during protesting, including how to navigate the courts and utilize local resources to make your job easier.
