Explaining Family Court Operations Under COVID-19 Restrictions

Panelists: Jefferson County Family Court Judges: Chief Judge Tara Hagerty, Judge Denise Brown, Judge Deana "Dee" McDonald, and Judge A. Christine Ward. Moderated by Dorislee Gilbert, Executive Director, Mary Byron Project.

Recent “social distancing” orders from Governor Andy Beshear and the Kentucky Supreme Court have profoundly impacted the operation family courts in Kentucky.   On Tuesday, May 12, please join Chief Judge Tara Hagerty, Judge Denise Brown, Judge Deana "Dee" McDonald, and Judge A. Christine Ward. Moderated by Dorislee Gilbert, Executive Director, Mary Byron Project for an online panel discussion of how the Jefferson County Family Courts are managing their current cases.  Topics of the discussion will include the current operations of the courts, best practices for attorneys with active cases, and the judges’ views on how “social distancing” might affect family law practice in the near and long terms.  Viewers of the panel will have an opportunity to type in questions for the judges to answer.

This panel is presented by the Louisville Bar Association’s Family Law Section, free of charge for live viewers.
