Immigration attorneys from KRM will present a CLE program focused on representing immigrants eligible to apply for U.S. citizenship. The CLE is for attorneys who would like to learn about immigration law and agree to represent at least one KRM client pro bono. The training will cover screening and eligibility for naturalization, requirements to obtain a waiver of the English language and oath requirements, and best practices for working with the local USCIS office.

Upon completion of the CLE, attorneys can volunteer to accept pro bono referrals for citizenship cases from Kentucky Refugee Ministries. Each attorney that accepts a case will be paired with a KRM attorney or BIA accredited representative who can answer questions about the naturalization process.

Speakers include: Kentucky Refugee Ministries’ Immigration Attorneys: Kathryn Hogg, Sarah Mills and Audrey Trigg .

Up to 10 LBA members can attend this seminar FREE of charge by agreeing to represent ONE KRM clients, pro bono, in their naturalization matters. Please call the LBA CLE Department at 583-5314 for details and/or to register (cannot register online for this arrangement).

All handout materials are via electronic download. Paper copy may be purchased for an additional cost.
