The Bonehead Play: Avoiding Costly Errors

On September 23, 1908, rookie New York Giants first baseman Fred Merkle made a base-running error that cost his team a chance at the World Series. While just a minor error in judgment, this "bonehead play" had a profound impact on Merkle's career and legacy. Furthermore, it started a cascade of events that tested the honesty, character and professionalism of his teammates and opponents. In this one-of-a-kind webinar, master storyteller and legal scholar Professor Mark Yochum will use this infamous tale as a backdrop to demonstrate how lawyers can avoid committed their own bonehead plays and how we should conduct ourselves in the event of the inevitable errors made by ourselves, colleagues and opposing parties.
