Program Description: Intellectual Property Ethics: Current Ethical Issues Related to Patent and Trademark Practice
This seminar will provide an overview of various ethical issues related to Patent and Trademark practice. John Cross will present information related to privileged communications in international patent practice Scott Higdon and Manav Das will present an overview of recent cases pertaining to jurisdiction over patent malpractice claims and will review the underlying malpractice claims. Terry Wright will provide an overview of the new USPTO Professional Conduct Rules as it pertains to patent practice and other ethical issues related to the recent AIA implementation. Scot Duvall will provide an overview of the new USPTO Professional Conduct Rules as it pertains to trademark practice and will also discuss trademark bullying.
