Program Description:  

Tax Practice and Procedure and the Role of Chief Counsel

This one hour presentation will consist of a general overview of federal income tax procedure including a description of the audit cycle, notice process, and venues for challenging an IRS determination. The role of Chief Counsel will also be discussed including our role in the life cycle of a Tax Court case and important aspects of litigating in the U.S. Tax Court.

Speakers include: Kristin Bourland, Denise DiLoreto and Diana N. (Nikki) Wells, all with the IRS Office of Chief Counsel’s Small Business/Self-Employed Division
