Legal Hurdles While Doing Business Across the Border

Join the Louisville Bar Association’s Diversity Committee for this two-hour presentation presented by renowned lawyer, linguist and author, Dr. Javier Becerra, professor at la Escuela Libre de Derecho in Mexico City.

This presentation will include discussion of the following topics:

* Documents required for incorporating a new Mexican company.
* Initial place of business; renting before company is fully formed and registered for tax purposes.
* Hiring and firing labor-law obligations; employment claims and lawsuits.
* Powers of attorney.
* Immigration matters, etc.
