About the Women Lawyers AssociationThe Women Lawyers Association of Jefferson County's mission is to provide a forum for women attorneys, to promote the legal profession in Jefferson County and to offer information about the profession and public services to the community at large. The Association was founded in 1961 by fifteen women attorneys and has a current membership of about 400 attorneys, both male and female, and law students. The Association offers a wonderful opportunity for lawyers and law students to meet and share experiences. Association members represent a spectrum of practice from government and corporate to private practice and public interest work. WLA Luncheons are held at the Bristol Bar & Grille Downtown (614 W. Main Street) at 11:45 a.m. The programs feature speakers on current issues and promotion of the WLA's community causes.
