This program was orginally presented on Thursday, June 16, 2005. The Louisville Bar Association and the Kentucky Chapter of Legal Administrators were pleased to welcome back nationally known speaker Anthony E. Davis.
This presentation was designed to help lawyers and law firms improve profitability. The presentation focused on the following issues:
- Selecting appropriate fee arrangements
-The problems with hourly billing
-The benefits - and problems - of alternative fee arrangements
- Billing systems and bills that generate payment (not disputes)
- Collection systems – what does and does not work
Anthony E. Davis is a partner in Hinshaw & Culbertson, New York City. He focuses his practice in the areas of risk management and loss control for law firms and ethical issues for the legal profession. Davis is the author of bi-monthly column in the New York Law Journal and RISK MANAGEMENT: Survival Tools for Law Firms and THE ESSENTIAL FORMBOOK: Comprehensive Practice Management Tools for Lawyers, both published by the ABA.
