2013 Bench & Bar Dinner a Success

On Thursday, Jan. 24 the LBA honored some outstanding members and introduced new officers at its 2013 Bench & Bar Dinner.

As the local legal community’s biggest event of the year, the Annual Dinner is an opportunity for area attorneys, judges and their guests to relax, unwind and enjoy a night of catching up with colleagues.

This year’s dinner was another sold out event and welcomed over 400 guests – filling The Henry Clay Grand Ballroom to its capacity. The event kicked off with a cocktail hour at 5:30 p.m., followed by an announcement of the 2013 LBA officers, dinner, an award ceremony, and finally a raffle drawing, of which proceeds will benefit the Louisville Bar Foundation, the LBA’s charitable giving arm.

2013 LBA officers were elected at the end of 2012 and include President Bradley R. Hume, Thompson Miller & Simpson; President-Elect Susan D. Phillips, Phillips Parker Orberson & Arnett; Vice-President/Treasurer Angela Logan Edwards, Dinsmore & Shohl; and Secretary Charles J. (Mike) Cronan IV, Stites & Harbison. Past President Bobby Simpson introduced the officers after a short farewell speech and thank you to the evening’s sponsors.
