Rental-Obstreperosity: Is it (takes one to know one)
DVD 2.0 CLE Ethics Hours
Obstreperosity: Is it "Takes one to know one" or "The fault, dear Brutus, is in ourselves"? We have all read about the sins of the obstreperous lawyer. And most of us have talked about it, but usually in the context of someone else's conduct which was "bad." This program will explore the law of obstreperous lawyers; guidance concerning obstreperous conduct; and a modest proposal for handling the obstreperous other lawyer, client or judge. It will also cover the question of whether, and if so, when, obstreperous conduct can be useful, not unethical, and perhaps even required for competent representation. Attendees will either remember their own adolescence or come with recent memories of their own adolescents. Speaker: John M. Myers, Montgomery, McCracken, Walker & Rhoads
